The Hill Country University Center (HCUC) will sponsor an information session titled "Paying for College" at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010 in the HEB Event Center on the HCUC campus.  Tours of the new campus located at 2818 E. US Highway 290, Fredericksburg, will also be available.  Students planning to attend any college or university and/or their parents are invited to attend.

Presenters will be representatives from the HCUC academic partners who offer college courses and degrees at the Fredericksburg center.  These partners include Concordia University Texas, whose staff will present sessions on financial aid and scholarships, Texas Tech University,  Austin Community College, and Angelo State University.  A question and answer session and tours of the building will follow the presentations.

Local advisors from each of the partner colleges will be present to give information and answer questions about the various bachelor degree programs available in Fredericksburg.

At HCUC, Austin Community College offers the core curriculum which can be transferred to any university.  Concordia University Texas offers a Business Accelerated Degree Program for adult students (over age 23).

 Texas Tech at Fredericksburg offers two degrees: the Bachelor of General Studies with 13 areas of concentration in which students choose 3 to study in depth and the Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies degree, an elementary education (Early Childhood-6th grade) program with an emphasis in either English as a Second Language or Special Education.

Austin Community College plans to have their mobile “Go-Van” on site, and the HCUC will also have the computer lab open for participants to work on their FAFSA and college applications.
